Dan Girard: Winner of the GTHL’s Trainer of the Year Award For 2024-25

Congratulations to Dan Girard, Trainer of our U18A team and winner of the GTHL’s 2024-25 Trainer of the Year Award. This award recognizes outstanding achievement in safety, risk management, and contribution to the well-being of players.
Nominated by his players, Dan is described by his team as the “silent hero behind every shift.” Known for his calm leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to safety, Dan’s impact goes far beyond the bench — leaving a lasting impression on all who know him.👏
In his acceptance speech, Dan shared how meaningful this award is to him, especially as it bears the name of Dr. Tom Pashby — a tireless advocate for player safety in hockey. Dr. Pashby was instrumental in driving key reforms in the game, including the mandatory use of helmets. He was also a fellow Leaside resident, and Rink A at Leaside Arena is named in his honour.
Congratulations Dan, and thank you for all you do.
