Register Now for CDS Evaluations

Players must be registered to be eligible to attend CDS Evaluations. Players may register using one of the following two methods:

NEW THIS YEAR - TWO REGISTRATION OPTIONS

OPTION 1 - As in past years, players may register for the LHA House League program on or after April 1 to be eligible to attend CDS Evaluations. This is by far the simplest option as the CDS Evaluation Fee is included in your HL Registration and your player will automatically be signed up for CDS Evaluations if you check "interested in playing CDS".

Please Note - Option 1 is the traditional option, it only requires one step and guarantees your player a spot with the LHA.

OPTION 2 - Players may now register with the GTHL prior to CDS Evaluations. Please be aware that this option includes a number of steps, as follows:

Register with the GTHL and obtain a Hockey Canada Number for your player
Sign up for LHA CDS Evaluations using your Hockey Canada Number
Pay the NON REFUNDABLE $150 CDS Evaluation Fee to the LHA before evaluations
You may register for LHA House League at any time in this process to secure a spot within the LHA
If, after evaluations, your player joins an LHA CDS team, your player must register for LHA House League

Please Note - should you choose Option 2 and later decide to register for LHA House League, the $150 NON REFUNDABLE CDS Evaluation fee will be deducted from the LHA HL Registration fee so you pay $825 for the season.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE - Please be sure to arrive at the rink well in advance so you can confirm your registration and be loaned a pinnie that will help identify your child on the ice. The pinnie must be returned at the end of each evaluation session.

Please note that we may have to move registrants to another timeslot to better balance the sessions. Families that are impacted will be notified as soon as possible.

About CDS Hockey

Competitive Development Stream (CDS) hockey gives our youngest players their first opportunity to expand their House League experience by playing on a Leaside team that competes against other hockey clubs. CDS is excellent preparation for future participation on a GTHL or Select team (U10 - U18).

Every year, all LHA House League players that would like to play CDS are evaluated and placed on a CDS team with players of a similar skill level. CDS is an additional commitment of time and cost as players enjoy additional practices and games each week with their CDS team. As a volunteer-driven organization, the LHA relies on parent involvement to make each program a success. Parents who are interested in taking a more active role in their child's experience are strongly encouraged to volunteer.

** Please note ** CDS players continue to be an active part of the LHA House League program throughout the season. To be eligible to join a CDS team, players must be registered in the LHA House League program. Players registered in Learn To Play are not eligible for CDS.

CDS games follow the Ontario Hockey Federation Player Development Model designed to develop both age-appropriate hockey skills and a lifelong love for the game. CDS games also follow specific Rules and Gameplay that differ by age.
