A friendly reminder that the 2024-2025 Parent Survey will remain open and active through this Sunday February 9, 2025. If you have not already had a chance to do so, the LHA would appreciate a few minutes of your time to help us gain some valuable insight into your experiences this season.

The questions are tailored to whichever programs at the LHA your child is involved with: LTP, HL, CDS, Select, or GTHL. Please complete a survey for each child/player you have registered with the LHA. Your responses will remain anonymous.

LHA Volunteer Awards

Nominations Now Open

Volunteer Awards (1)

Volunteers make it possible for the Leaside Hockey Association to deliver high-quality hockey programming to our community at as manageable a cost as possible. Coaches, trainers, managers, conveners, board members, and parents all give hours of their time each week so that our children can enjoy the great game of hockey. We are extremely grateful for all our volunteers, and thank you for putting in the time to make playing hockey at Leaside an amazing experience.

Maybe you know a member of our community that has given a little more than average and has made an exceptional contribution? Please consider nominating them for one of our two LHA volunteer awards: the Jeff Munn Volunteer of the Year Award and the George Turrell Spirit Award.

We encourage nominations from any of the LHA's divisions: House League, CDS, Select, and GTHL. We ask you to please keep your nomination to 500 words.

Send your nominations to Anthony Hammill at vpcommunity@leasidehockey.com by Sunday, February 23.

Please click HERE for more information on the awards and past winners.

NHL/NHLPA First Shift Returns to Leaside

Website 2025 First Shift

The LHA is delighted to announce the First Shift Program will return to Leaside Arena in February 2025. First Shift is a program designed by the NHL and the NHL Players Association to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families. Every effort is made to create a lasting love for hockey by:

  • taking away any intimidation as it relates to equipment requirements, and/or rules of the game,
  • removing potential safety concerns, and most importantly,
  • providing an experience that is memorable and FUN.

Accessible, Affordable, Safe and FUN are the goals of the First Start Program. We can't wait to see the new players on the ice in February.
