Join Us for LHA Day - Saturday April 5

Please join us on Saturday April 5 from 10 am to 2 pm for the LHA's end-of-year celebration at Leaside Arena. We'll have games, inflatables/bouncers, ice cream and, of course, great hockey.
We will also be saying an enthusiastic Thank You to Nancy Johnston for her incredible contribution to Leaside Hockey over the past 25+ years. We'll be celebrating Nancy, who will be retiring from her role as Registrar in July, from 11 am to 1 pm with a special presentation at 11:30 am.
We can't wait to see you there!

The Women on the LHA Bench

The LHA is extremely proud of the growing number of women volunteering to be part of the bench staff for our competitive teams. Whether a head coach, assistant coach or trainer, these women are playing a vital part in their child's, and the whole team's, hockey experience.
Click HERE or on the button below to meet some of the women on the LHA bench and learn more about what inspired them to join the bench staff and what they enjoy most about the experience.
If you are interested in being more involved in your child's hockey experience, please speak to your Head Coach or program coordinator about upcoming opportunities.

NHL/NHLPA First Shift Returns to Leaside

The LHA is delighted to announce the First Shift Program will return to Leaside Arena in February 2025. First Shift is a program designed by the NHL and the NHL Players Association to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families. Every effort is made to create a lasting love for hockey by:
- taking away any intimidation as it relates to equipment requirements, and/or rules of the game,
- removing potential safety concerns, and most importantly,
- providing an experience that is memorable and FUN.
Accessible, Affordable, Safe and FUN are the goals of the First Start Program. We can't wait to see the new players on the ice in February.

Thank you First Shift Volunteers
We are extremely grateful for the incredible response to our request for LHA U15 - U18 Select & GTHL players to volunteer as First Shift Assistant Instructors. All Assistant Instructor roles are now FULL. If you have applied to be an Assistant Instructor, the LHA will be in touch by email to let you know if your application has been accepted and, if so, your scheduled sessions.
