I Play in the "G"
The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) is one of the largest youth ice hockey organizations in the world. Approximately 50 associations, including the Leaside Hockey Association, operate within the GTHL.
The GTHL runs competitive leagues at three "rep" levels, "A", "AA" and "AAA". The league begins at U10 and continues through U18 to U21.
While "A" level is non-contact throughout, body checking begins at U14 for teams in the "AA" and "AAA" levels.
As per GTHL rule 4.2 Clubs and Governance, clubs or associations with "AAA" teams are not allowed teams in the "AA" or "A" categories.
The GTHL also coordinates the operation of Select Hockey in Toronto under the North York Hockey League.
The GTHL is one of seven (7) hockey leagues that are governed by the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF). The OHF is the largest member of Hockey Canada.
