Select Tryouts 2026
The LHA is pleased to announce that Select Tryouts will take place this Spring at Leaside Arena - 1073 Millwood Road.
Players trying out for a Select team must be registered in advance and must attend all the tryouts listed for their age group.
Players registered in Leaside Hockey House League for the 2026-27 season are automatically registered for Select Tryouts. No further sign up or payment is required for LHA members. Players registered through the GTHL tryout registration process are asked to please contact Catherine at coordinator@leasidehockey.com before the tryouts.
House League registration opens April 1 at 12:01 am.

There will be two tryouts for each age group U10-U14 and players have been assigned to a specific Group (G1/G2), as noted on the schedule below, based on the first letter of their last name. Please note the rink (A/B) after the date.

About Select Hockey
Select Hockey is a fantastic opportunity for our House League players to enjoy non-contact competitive hockey against other clubs. The LHA is proud to offer multiple Select teams at every age level from U10 through U18.
Teams in our Select program are formed through a structured tryout process designed to ensure fair and objective player evaluation. Each tryout includes at least three professional coaches: two or more leading the on-ice drills and one observing and evaluating players off the ice to assess overall skill level and performance.
Beyond their regular weekly House League schedule, Select players join their teammates in additional weekly practices and games throughout the season, providing players with more opportunities for skill development and competitive play.
Our Select teams compete in the North York Hockey League (NYHL). With more than 28 member associations and over 250 teams, the NYHL is the largest community based Select program in Canada. The NYHL is operated by the GTHL, which is one of seven (7) member organizations of the Ontario Hockey Federation.
